Not impressed

I downloaded the app as it says that its free.
Once the app gets opened it tells me that to get the full version I have to pay for the same app .
This isnt the only app that does this so it doesnt have anything to do with the app itself but why does it say free when in reality in order to get full function you must buy it?
Not impressed by Apple miss leading the customers.
